Pergament is a printing house and cardboard packaging manufacturer in Chisinau, Moldova, since 1999. We make custom frozen food packaging: boxes for dumplings, ready meals and ice cream — with your logo, full-colour printing in food-safe inks and, where a barrier is needed, PE-coated board (a grease and moisture barrier). Runs from 500 pieces, usual lead time 3–5 days; smaller runs on quotation. Guide price — the general self-assembly range: from 8 MDL (Moldovan lei) per piece at 300–1,000 pcs and from 2.50 MDL at 1,000+ pcs (VAT included). Structure — from 3,000+ ready cutting dies, no tooling cost; prototype — plotter-cut, from 30 minutes. Boxes are glued on our servo-driven folder-gluer — the only one in Moldova — so every box in the run is identical, which matters most for automatic filling lines.

A guide from real 2025–2026 orders for a plain specification, not an offer; the general range — from the article How much does box printing cost in Chisinau. Within a category prices differ several-fold because of size, board and finishing. No separate range for frozen food and ice cream: costed operation by operation for your product within a couple of hours, 2–3 variants at once, and fixed in the invoice.

Structures and sizes

Material follows the product and how it is used; the structure comes from 3,000+ ready cutting dies or a custom CAD dieline. Examples from our work:

Self-assembly boxes arrive flat, take very little space and pop open in one movement; crash-lock bottoms and boxes with four and six gluing points are assembled in series on the folder-gluer. Labels for the packaging: Stickers, labels for food.

Materials and finishing

  • Board: white coated or kraft; for food packaging — Finnish coated multilayer GC1 cartonboard, 195–450 g/m², with its own sanitary approval.
  • Barrier: 280 g/m² PE-coated board — a grease and moisture barrier; for wet and greasy products — a greaseproof insert, lamination or PE- or PET-coated board.
  • Inks: food packaging runs use the hubergroup MGA NATURA 5250 offset series — mineral oil free and low-migration; printing is applied to the outer face, the inner face is left unprinted.
  • Varnish: a water-based varnish from the same series provides rub resistance; the Heidelberg prints and coats in a single pass. Pilot batches — in the press-class Konica Minolta digital department.

As a rule, the material is already in stock. GC1 cartonboard 215–290 g/m² in several sheet sizes, 280 g/m² PE-coated board and lamination films (matte, gloss, soft-touch) — in our own warehouse, imported directly from mills in Europe and Asia. Your run does not wait for delivery, the board is the same run after run, no middleman's margin. More: About us.

Food safety: what the ANSP approval covers

ANSP sanitary approval no. P-23739/2026 of 04.08.2026 is valid until 04.08.2029 and was issued for our own product — cartonboard boxes for food contact, not just the board we buy; overall migration of the finished box — 4.3 mg/dm² against a limit of 10. The approval and the manufacturer's declaration cover dry and bulk goods, bakery and confectionery, fruit and vegetables. Wet and greasy products need a barrier — we decide this at the quotation stage. If the pack will be heated in a microwave or an oven, tell us at the start: that calls for a different substrate and ink series. Documents: Food packaging certification.

How we work

  1. Send the dimensions or the product itself, the quantity (ideally 2–3 options) and the purpose — especially whether the packaging will touch food. Artwork is optional: the technologist will propose the structural design and layout.
  2. Within a couple of hours — an operation-by-operation quote from our production system in 2–3 variants, with no discrepancies between quote and invoice: contract and invoice come from the same calculation.
  3. Prototype from 30 minutes: the engineer designs the dieline in CAD, the plotter cuts the sample — assemble it and place your product inside. Simple construction — €100, complex — €200, credited towards a run ordered within 60 days. With your design — a digital colour mini-run.
  4. Printing, die-cutting and gluing — at our own plant in Chisinau. Collect the run, we deliver across Moldova, or we store it and ship in batches on your schedule — a year's volume at a large-run price.

Questions and answers

What is the minimum run for frozen food packaging?

From 500 pieces — the usual food packaging run, 3–5 days. Smaller runs on quotation; a pilot batch of 50–100 pcs goes digital with plotter cutting in 1–2 days, without plates or a die.

Are the boxes suitable for automatic filling?

Yes. The servo-driven folder-gluer holds the geometry very precisely: complex constructions, crash-lock bottoms included, are produced in series and run reliably on the client's automatic filling lines.

Will you supply documents for a retail chain and a HACCP file?

Yes. On request we hand over the full package: the ANSP sanitary approval for our product, test report, declaration of conformity, product technical specification and raw material documents — prepared for the specific order, usually within one working day.

Can you repeat our run exactly a year later?

Yes. More than 36,800 orders since 2014 are in the system, each with its tech passport: board, inks, die, finishing, gluing. A repeat run is made from it, not from memory.

What happens if our manager changes — or yours?

Nothing. Order history, prices and remarks on past runs live in the system, not with a person.

How fast do you quote?

Operation-by-operation costing takes minutes; one reply gives 2–3 variants — by quantity, board or finishing.

How do I know what stage my order is at?

Operations are registered on shop-floor terminals in real time — the manager sees the stage without calling the shop floor.
